The Steelers have re-signed offensive lineman B.J. Finney the team announced on Wednesday.

Finney was brought back to the team just one day after being released as part of the team’s cut down to 53 initial players on Tuesday. He was re-signed after tackle Zach Banner, running back Anthony McFarland Jr. and defensive end Stephon Tuitt were placed on injured reserve on Wednesday.

Finney re-joined the team as a free agent this spring after spending one season with the Seattle Seahawks and Cincinnati Bengals. He originally joined the Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2015 and played in 59 games while making 13 starts at both center and guard from 2016-19.

Finney will likely serve as one of the team’s top backups along the interior offensive line, along with Rashaad Coward and J.C. Hassenauer.

The Steelers also added Coward and cornerback Arthur Maulet back to the roster on Wednesday.
