Steelers Release former XFL OL Jarron Jones

The Steelers have released former XFL offensive lineman Jarron Jones, the team announced on Saturday.

Jones signed with the Steelers on March 26 after a successful stint with the New York Guardians of the XFL. Jones, who played at Notre Dame was taken in the first round of the XFL’s lineman draft in 2019.

He worked at both tackle and guard as a professional after playing defensive line with the Irish.

Jones is the 18th player to be released by the Steelers since the end of training camp on Friday, joining cornerback Trajan Bandy, defensive end Henry Mondeaux, defensive tackle Cavon Walker, offensive lineman Anthony Coyle, Christian DiLauro, Derwin Gray and John Keenoyoutside linebacker Tuzar Skipper, punter Corliss Waitman, quarterback Paxton Lynch, running backs Trey Edmunds, Wendell Smallwood and Kerrith Whyte, Jr., tight end Kyle Markway,and wide receivers Deon Cain,  Saeed BlacknallRyan Switzer and DeAndre Thompkins.
