Steelers Release OL Jarron Jones
The Steelers have released offensive lineman Jarron Jones as part of a series of roster moves on Tuesday.
Jones, 27, first signed with the Steelers last April and spent the 2020 season on the team’s practice squad, but his time in Pittsburgh was most notable due to legal issues.
The lineman was arrested in October and charged with two felonies in an alleged domestic assault. Those felonies were dropped in a hearing last month, but Jones was re-arrested and hit with additional charges, stemming from an incident in September. Jones will have a preliminary hearing on those charges on July 27.
Jones’ release coincided with the Steelers’ signing of tackle Chaz Green and outside linebacker Melvin Ingram. The Steelers will report to training camp on Wednesday.
