The Steelers have released rookie free agent defensive end Calvin Taylor, the team announced on Saturday.
Taylor joined the Steelers in April after going undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Kentucky.
At 6-foot-7, Taylor stood out at Steelers training camp, but was stuck behind more experienced players like Isaiah Buggs at defensive end.
Taylor is the 20th player to be released by the Steelers since the end of training camp on Friday, joining cornerback Trajan Bandy, defensive end Henry Mondeaux, defensive tackle Cavon Walker, offensive lineman Anthony Coyle, Christian DiLauro, Derwin Gray, Jarron Jones and John Keenoy, outside linebacker Tuzar Skipper, punter Corliss Waitman, quarterback Paxton Lynch, running backs Trey Edmunds, Wendell Smallwood and Kerrith Whyte, Jr., tight ends Kyle Markway and Kevin Rader, and wide receivers Deon Cain, Saeed Blacknall, Ryan Switzer and DeAndre Thompkins.
