The center position is the lone position that was not addressed in the slightest to this point of the offseason by the Pittsburgh Steelers. After almost all of the starting-caliber free agent centers signed elsewhere, the Steelers plan to draft one became clear. Out of the draft-eligible centers, the three that are linked to the Steelers the most are Jackson Powers-Johnson, Graham Barton, and Zach Frazier. In most of the NFL expert mock drafts, Powers-Johnson is in a battle with Barton for who gets drafted first.

SN analyst Derrick Bell breaks down the scouting report for Powers-Johnson: where he excels and the things that he’ll need to work on as he transitions to the next level. Powers-Johnson started at Oregon for just one season but will play his entire rookie season at 21-years-old, making him one of the draft’s youngest prospects. In his lone season as a starter for the Ducks, Powers-Johnson allowed just one quarterback pressure and zero sacks. A blemish on Powers-Johnson resume is his arm length that measured out at 32 1/4 inches, which is just under the NFL average.
