Steelers to Host Rising QB Prospect on Pre-Draft Visit

The Pittsburgh Steelers are planning to host Mississippi quarterback Jaxson Dart for a top-30 pre-draft visit.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will host Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart for a pre-draft visit at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex in April, according to Mike DeFabo of The Athletic.

Dart, 21, has been rising up draft boards over the past couple of months after throwing for 10,617 yards, 72 touchdowns and 22 interceptions during his three years at Mississippi. He also rushed for 1,500 yards and 12 more scores.

However, he is currently the consensus No. 31 overall player on the NFL Mock Draft Database big board. So the Steelers would likely have to use their first-round pick if they hope to land him.

That could turn out to be a big reach, which is something Pittsburgh just did in 2022 with quarterback Kenny Pickett. But there is growing belief that the Steelers will take Dart at pick No. 21.

If that’s true, it’s safe to assume Pittsburgh’s brass will be in attendance for Mississippi’s pro day on Friday.

The Steelers need to add to their quarterback room with just Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson under contract for the 2025 season. But many believed that would be Aaron Rodgers after the team did not pay much attention to the quarterbacks, including Dart, at the Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile.

Maybe Pittsburgh has had a change of heart, even if it does eventually land Rodgers.
