The Steelers have traded tackle Jerald Hawkins to Tampa Bay, the team announced Saturday afternoon.

Hawkins was traded to the Buccaneers along with a seventh-round draft pick in 2021 for a sixth-round draft pick in 2021.

The 25-year-old Hawkins was the Steelers’ fourth-round pick in 2016 and is entering his fourth NFL season. The 6-foot-6, 305-pound tackle has dealt with a number of injuries in his career and spent all of 2018 on the injured receiver after a knee injury in OTAs.

Upon his return, Hawkins had a tough time cracking the second team, as Zach Banner and Chukwuma Okorafor locked down spots on the secon unit this preseason

Hawkins joins 13 players that have already been released by the Steelers to cut the roster down to 77. The team must be down to 53 players by 4 p.m.
