Steelers Tuesday Aftermath: Ground Game, Pickett Make Comeback Sweeter

Steelers

The Pittsburg Steelers survived a slow start to the second half, as Kenny Pickett and unlikely hero Benny Snell helped the team rebound and come away with a late 24-17 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

The win came with a cost, as Najee Harris is being evaluated for an abdominal injury. He left the game in the first half and did not return.

Even without Harris, the Steelers still had their fourth consecutive game of success running the football.

Benny Snell scored the game-winning touchdown after waiting a long time to get another shot at proving he belongs in the NFL.

That go-ahead touchdown? Kenny Pickett made the recommendation to run that play during a timeout.

That second-half comeback victory was the first of Kenny Pickett’s career. Given the poise and confidence he carries himself with, it probably won’t be the last.

Homistek: Flash or fluke, Kenny Pickett just showed up against the Colts.

Cam Sutton and Minkah Fitzpatrick made the game-sealing play for the Steelers defense.

The Steelers defense kept Jonathan Taylor and the strong Colts running game out of the end zone when it mattered.

For the second straight week, an opposing defense felt they were picking up on the Steelers play calls.

Add another ridiculous catch to the George Pickens highlight reel.

Pickett took two sacks in the first quarter, and at least one of them was his fault.

Robert Spillane and Miles Boykin were both inactive after being listed as questionable.

Cody White and Anthony McFarland Jr. were elevated from the practice squad.
