STEELERS TRANSACTIONS
The Steelers signed cornerbacks James Pierre and D’Shawn Jamison, tight end Matt Sokol and wide receiver Jaray Jenkins to the practice squad, promoted wide receiver Ben Skowronek and tight end Rodney Williams II to the active roster, placed Skowronek, linebacker Tyler Matakevich and tackle Troy Fautanu on the injured reserve list.

THE LAST TIME
A furious 27-point fourth quarter was not enough for the Steelers to come back from a 17-point defect. Austin Ekeler scored four touchdowns, two on the ground and two from Hebert, to stake the Chargers to a huge lead. Ben Roethlisberger threw touchdown passes to Diontae Johnson, Eric Enron and Pat Freiermuth and Chris Boswell kicked a go-ahead field goal late in the fourth, but a late Herbert to Mike Williams touchdown gave the Chargers the lead for good.

The Steelers are 24-11 all-time against the Chargers, dominating the first 40 years of the matchup, but the last five games have tilted toward the Chargers favor. The Chargers beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh in 2012 and 2018, in addition to the 2021 win in Los Angles. The Steelers won in 2019 in L.A. and in 2015 in San Diego.
