PITTSBURGH — Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson is back at practice after the team listed him on Thursday’s injury report as a did not practice due to his hamstring injury. It appears Pittsburgh built in a rest day for Johnson to minimize the risk of the hamstring reinjuring, and he is now back out there and seems ready to go for Sunday against the Jaguars.

Diontae Johnson missed four weeks with the hamstring injury he suffered against the San Francisco 49ers after being placed on injured reserve. He returned against the Rams but still did not look thoroughly back. It appears that is the case as the team hopes not to have a repeat of the Pat Freiermuth injury, where Freiermuth got injured and was placed on injured reserve. He will miss through November 12th against the Packers before he could return against Cleveland.

The Steelers praised Johnson all week for how much he affected the coverage the Rams played. Pickens even noted that he saw less double coverage before Johnson existed across from him. Pittsburgh should have no worries with Johnson’s availability on Sunday, though the hamstring injuries are notoriously tricky to predict. It seemed they are taking every precaution necessary to avoid a re-injury for Johnson after he missed four weeks already.
