Derrick Bell Steelers Now

I’m excited to announce that I’m joining Steelers Now as an analyst covering the Pittsburgh Steelers and the NFL Draft. I feel so incredibly blessed to join a team of Alan Saunders and Nick Farabaugh, both of whom I consider to be the absolute gold standard for this business. For so many of you that have supported my journey from day one, I cannot express my appreciation enough and you can rest assured knowing that this next step is going to be the start of something really special. For those who aren’t familiar with me or my work, I’d like to think that I bring a very unique perspective to the game. Football has been an integral part of my life since I could barely walk, and I’m not afraid to admit that I have a somewhat unhealthy obsession with the sport.

I’m constantly learning more and more about the intricacies of what transpires between those lines on Sundays and my goal is to communicate those lessons to viewers in a digestible, easy to understand manner. You can expect statistical deep dives, scheme breakdowns, film rooms on player performances and scouting info on Steelers opponents and NFL Draft Prospects alike. It goes without saying that I’m extremely passionate about what I do within my own niche and I hope that my content reflects that enthusiasm.

My goals are very much in line with the leadership of this site, which is to make Steelers Now the unquestioned go-to outlet for every single Steelers fan across the world. Simply put, this is where I wanted to be and now that it’s a reality, it’s time to go to work. But before I head back to the All-22, I just want to say thank you again to everyone who has made this possible. Here we go.

From editor Alan Saunders:

We are thrilled to have Derrick join our staff and think he will be a key piece to the puzzle as we continue to build what we hope will become the top destination for Pittsburgh Steelers news, analysis and commentary.

Derrick is someone whose work I have long admired from afar, and I’m so excited to have him on our team. You’ll start to see some of Derrick’s content coming out here over the nest few days, and I think you’ll agree with me that he’s a bright football mind that is able to connect his knowledge to the readers.

We have big plans for how we’re going use Derrick alongside the coverage from myself and Nick Farabaugh, but we’re not quite ready to make those announcements yet, so stay tuned. In the meantime, give Derrick a follow on Twitter.
