Steelers Bills

CBS’ top announcing team, Jim Nantz, Tony Romo, and Tracy Wolfson, will call the Steelers’ Wild Card Round matchup against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. The game will be played at 1 p.m. and broadcast nationally on CBS and Paramount+ for fans to watch. This is the first game that Nantz, Romo, and Wolfson have called for the Steelers this season, and it comes after they scratched their way into the postseason.

The Steelers made the playoffs as the No. 7 and final seed in the AFC. The Bills defeated the Miami Dolphins on Sunday Night Football to wrap as the No. 2 seed. This matchup looks lopsided on paper, as the Bills are favored nearly by double digits. Only adding to the fact is that Pittsburgh will be without T.J. Watt, who suffered a grade 2 MCL sprain in their win over the Baltimore Ravens. Without Watt, the team will turn to Markus Golden and Nick Herbig to pick up the slack.

The last time they made it to the postseason and played a road Wild Card game, the Steelers were 12.5-point underdogs to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2021. They lost that game by 21.

This season, the Steelers are 6-4 against the spread as underdogs, and won all six of those games outright. Three of them came on the road.

The Steelers and Bills faced each other this preseason in Pittsburgh, with the Steelers winning, 27-15 at Acrisure Stadium. They have played one another in four consecutive regular seasons. The Bills rolled to a huge 38-3 victory in Buffalo last season. The Steelers upset the Bills 23-16 to open the 2021 season. In 2020, the Bills beat the Steelers, 26-15 in Buffalo. Buffalo also won 27-20 in Pittsburgh in 2019.

Pittsburgh will now look to head to Buffalo and pull off the upset over a surging team that has won five straight, while Pittsburgh matches that with three straight wins since Mason Rudolph took over as starting quarterback.
