PITTSBURGH — Steelers QB Kenny Pickett tested his knee during practice this week and is good to go against the Baltimore Ravens. But it appears that Pittsburgh’s quarterback will not even need a knee brace, as during warmups, Pickett was not wearing a knee brace on his injured left knee. The knee brace came off during Thursday’s practice for a test run, and it seems that Pickett has passed those tests.

That matters, as during his time at Pitt, Kenny Pickett fought head coach Pat Narduzzi, who had a policy that all of his quarterbacks must wear a knee brace on their plant leg. Pickett won that tussle with his head coach but before suffering a scare in the 2018 ACC clash against Georgia Tech.

Pickett, who suffered a knee contusion last Sunday against the Houston Texans, was limited in practice and wore a knee brace on Wednesday but did not need the brace on Thursday or Friday. He also reportedly suffered a left calf injury that caused him to wear a sleeve over it during the practice week.

Pickett missed time with two separate concussion issues in 2022, including one suffered against the Ravens. He left the team’s game against the Texans on Sunday in the third quarter and did not return. According to Ian Rapoport, Pickett may be limited in his mobility.

Pickett has largely failed to meet expectations this season when healthy. In four games, he has completed 60.6% of his passes, with four touchdowns, four interceptions and a 76.3 passer rating.
