The Alex Highsmith era will continue in Pittsburgh, as the linebacker has signed a four-year contract extension worth $68 million in new money that will keep him in Pittsburgh through the end of the 2027 season.

Highsmith broke out for 14.5 sacks in 2022 in his third season in the NFL. He has 22.5 sacks in his first 49 career games.

The new deal makes Highsmith one of the top ten highest-paid edge rushers in the NFL and sparked some concerns that the Steelers are spending too much money on their defense and not enough on the offense.

So how do you feel about the Highsmith contract extension? Do you like it? Love it? Hate it? Vote below, and let us know in the comments.
