Derrick’s Dudes & Duds: Pickens is a Problem, CBs Struggle (+)

Death, taxes, and Steelers-Ravens games coming right down the wire are three guaranteed facts of life. This was both a horrific and spectacular game to witness in real time, which in a way, perfectly explains this rivalry. As bizarre as it sounds, the Pittsburgh Steelers head into the bye week leading the AFC North division. Let’s talk about some dudes and duds from a thrilling afternoon.

Dude: George Pickens

This kid is transforming into a star receiver right before our eyes. As the game went on, the Ravens played more man coverage for some reason, and Pickens made them pay. Six catches, 130 receiving yards, 16 rushing yards, and the game-sealing touchdown made him the MVP of today’s game. Anytime Kenny Pickett saw single high or cover-0, his eyes went straight to #14, and rightfully so. Pittsburgh’s offense doesn’t have much going right for them consistently but in Diontae Johnson’s absence, Pickens has done an admirable job helping fill the WR1 void.
