Steelers Leave With Zero Fines from Titans Game

The Steelers were not fined at all coming out of their win against the Tennessee Titans. They received fines against the Jaguars, including Diontae Johnson getting hit with $25,000 for criticizing officials following the game. But Pittsburgh will have their full pay coming out of the Titans game. Guard Isaac Seumalo even won the NFL’s Way to Play Award for the week for proper technique without using dangerous tactics.

In the past, Pittsburgh has been fined a hefty amount this season. Even with this in mind, they are the most-fined team in the NFL through Week 9. Through Week 8, Pittsburgh had racked up $333,079 fines, by far the most in the NFL. The leader in the room on that is Jaylen Warren, who has earned over $90,000 in fines despite making just over $800,000 for the entire season.

Fines are way up across the NFL, with the fines through Week 9 nearly equalling the amount fined through the 2022 season. There have already been over $3 million in fines this season. Pittsburgh got hit with multiple fines last week from their loss against the Jaguars, but the lack of fines is a change of pace for them against the Titans. However, this has been a similar story for them throughout the last few seasons.

It continues the trend from 2022, as Pittsburgh was the most fined team. Collectively, the Steelers were fined $196,480, according to the study. The big total likely came about because of a defensive celebration in November against the Indianapolis Colts after a James Pierre interception. So, the NFL is getting even happier with the fines, and Pittsburgh has exceeded its mark from a year ago.

NFL player fines go to the Professional Athletes Foundation, which helps support NFL legends in need and youth football initiatives. According to NFL publications, the league contains an average of $4 million per season in fines.

Fined players can choose to appeal their fines if they wish to.
