The Pittsburgh Steelers acquired a number of players in free agency this offseason and released their new jersey numbers for them on Thursday.

Quarterbacks in Justin Fields, Russell Wilson and Kyle Allen all come in at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. Fields takes No. 2 from now Tennessee Titans quarterback Mason Rudolph, Wilson takes No. 3 from practice squad punter Brad Wing and Allen gets the No. 4 after the last player to have it was former kicker Matthew Wright in 2022.

Punter Cameron Johnston will serve as the first player for the Steelers to wear the No. 5 jersey since former quarterback Josh Dobbs did so from 2018-20.

The biggest free-agent signing in Steelers history, linebacker Patrick Queen, gets to wear the No. 6 jersey. He takes over from former punter Pressley Harvin, who wore it from 2019-23 and will serve as the first defensive player to wear the number for the franchise.

Wide receivers in Van Jefferson, Quez Watkins and Cordarelle Patterson will war the No. 11, No. 16 and No. 84 jersey numbers, respectively, next season.

Jefferson takes the No. 11 jersey from former Steelers wide receiver Allen Robinson last season. Watkins takes the No. 16 jersey from former linebacker Myles Jack from 2023 and is the first wide out to wear the number since Tyler Murphy in 2015.

Patterson will serve as the first Steeler to wear the No. 84 since former All-Pro wide out Antonio Brown did so for the Franchise for nine seasons from 2010-18.

Defensive backs in safety DeShon Elliott and cornerback Donte Jackson will wear No. 25 and No. 26 jersey numbers, respectively.

Elliott takes his number after both former defensive backs Eric Rowe and Desmond King wore it at different times last season. Former running back Anthony McFarland Jr. wore the No. 26 jersey from 2020-23 and the last defensive back to wear it was Will Allen from 2010-12.

Defensive lineman Dean Lowry takes over the No. 94 jersey, after former defensive lineman Armon Watts had it in 2023. Former defensive lineman Tyson Alualu wore the number from 2017-22 and both linebackers Lawrence Timmons and Chad Brown had it from 2007-16 and 1993-2006, respectively.
