Steelers Set Initial 53-Man Roster, Nine Rookies Make Cut
After one trade and 37 cuts, the Steelers got their roster down to 53 players on Saturday afternoon.
While things can and probably will change between now and next Sunday’s season opener at New England, here are the way things shook out for the initial 53:

Ben Roethlisberger, Mason Rudolph and Josh Dobbs.
RUNNING BACK (4)
James Conner, Jaylen Samuels, Benny Snell (4th Rd) and Rosie Nix at fullback.
WIDE RECEIVER (5)
JuJu Smith-Schuster, Donte Moncrief, James Washington, Ryan Switzer and Diontae Johnson (3rd Rd).
TIGHT END (3)
Vance McDonald, Xavier Grimble and Zach Gentry (5th Rd).
TACKLE (4)
Alejandro Villanueva, Matt Feiler, Chukwuma Okorafor and Zach Banner.
CENTER/GUARD (5)
Maurkice Pouncey, David DeCastro, Ramon Foster, B.J. Finney and Fred Johnson (UDFA).
DEFENSIVE LINE (6)
