UNITY TWP., Pa. — Fresh off an impressive touchdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, George Pickens and the other wide receivers took the field to sharpen their routes and other areas of their game to continue the hoped progression for the Steelers offense in 2023.

The wide receivers, like George Pickens, stood out and went to work on Friday. They worked with Kenny Pickett on some routes during a portion of practice. The team will aim to take their passing game to the next level after a season where they struggled to create explosive plays.

Matt Canada’s offense will be under the microscope after multiple additions, including in the pass catchers room and on the offensive line. With Pickett heading into his second season as a potential breakout candidate, it seems to be a year where it is put up or shut up time for the Steelers offense under the guidance of Canada. With Mike Tomlin expecting the team to start fast, that becomes even more paramount.

Meanwhile, additions such as Allen Robinson II and the returning Calvin Austin III are looking to gather their feet as the week continues go onward. They will be key pieces in making sure the offense does take that next step along with a potential bounce-back season from Diontae Johnson.
