Steelers Sights and Sounds: Minkah Fitzpatrick is Back

UNITY TWP., Pa — Hey, Minkah Fitzpatrick is back and he was in full pads and going through individual drills with the Steelers safeties on Saturday. Fitzpatrick worked with all the players that are there, and added some depth to a safety room dealing with some injuries in Damontae Kazee and Keanu Neal.

Fitzpatrick noted he was only gone for a short bit due to a family matter that Mike Tomlin told him to go take care of right away. It did not even take Minkah Fitzpatrick two words in order to get the point across to Tomlin, who has noted many times that Fitzpatrick has his full support.

Not only is he back with the team, but Fitzpatrick is in full pads, and practiced on Saturday, although in a limited fashion. That means he will be diving head-first into the training camp as a full-go. In addition, it looked like Damontae Kazee could return as well. So, the team could have some safety depth for the first time in a week after suffering a number of injuries at the position. Tomlin noted that he would not give out the reasoning why Fitzpatrick was not there, but it was a personal issue. He never revealed a timeline.
