Steelers WR Diontae Johnson Suffers Injury

PITTSBURGH — Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson suffered an injury on the George Pickens touchdown play, and it appears that he is now in the blue medical tent. That will make Johnson questionable to return. It is unknown what the injury to Johnson is and how severe it is. However, he has remained in the blue medical tent for an extended period for evaluation. When he finally came out of the blue medical tent, Johnson did not have a helmet.

Diontae Johnson adds to a lengthy injury list, including Kenny Pickett and Minkah Fitzpatrick. Both of those players have been ruled out. Johnson has his helmet behind him and is sitting with his receiver room, but it is unclear if the team has declared that he can return to the game.

For now, the Steelers could go without Johnson, which could be a massive loss for the team, considering what they need on the offensive side of the ball. Even with multiple injuries across the group, Johnson remains one of the most important players for them on offense. He can take advantage of the attention that George Pickens gets and punish teams. If he can not return, Allen Robinson II and Calvin Austin III must step up and take advantage of the opportunities.
