PITTSBURGH — After the Steelers scored a touchdown against the Cardinals while down 24-3 in their disastrous game on Sunday, wide receiver Diontae Johnson was seen dancing and celebrating in the end zone, drawing the ire of fans.

It was Johnson’s second touchdown of the season and just his third reception of the day. He was on and off the football field after having his ankle rolled up on, but he made a big catch to get the team down into the red zone, and then made a toe-tapping grab in the end zone for a touchdown on this play. His off-the-field and on-the-field efforts have been questioned over the last few weeks.

Johnson reportedly heatedly argued with Minkah Fitzpatrick after their loss to the Cleveland Browns.  ESPN reported that the argument escalated to the point where T.J. Watt and Cam Heyward had to separate the two, and then gave a speech following the argument. Johnson did not believe it was anything to worry about.

Johnson went viral for his lack of effort on Jaylen Warren’s first-quarter fumble against the Cincinnati Bengals. It became a national topic. That play came directly after the play where the Steelers may have caught a touchdown, but the refs did not see it, and Mike Tomlin did not challenge it. Johnson believed he had ‘three feet’ in front of him on the play, but it never mattered, as Tomlin said he never got a good enough look to challenge the play.

This dance in the end zone is the thing to get Johnson put under fire.
