Jaylen Warren Steelers Training Camp

PITTSBURGH — Jaylen Warren just hit another gear. On the team’s first drive, Warren busted a 62 yard touchdown on an outside zone run. It could not have been blocked any better. Dan Moore Jr. and Isaac Seumalo sealed off the left side. Mason Cole and Chuks Okorafor notched pancakes. James Daniels reached the backside linebacker. On top of that, it was a great block by Diontae Johnson downfield. By the end, all Warren needed to do was turn the jets on to take it to the house.

Jaylen Warren continues to showcase that he can be a massive boon to the Steelers’ offense with Najee Harris as a tandem running back. Matt Canada hopes that the team can continue to showcase their ascension, and explosive plays like that will allow the team to be much more dangerous right away.

Meanwhile, guys Warren and Anthony McFarland are showcasing traits that the Steelers can use in multiple different areas of the game at this point. They can create explosive plays across the field in multiple ways. McFarland has shown crisp route running and aptitude to working out of the backfield and into the slot as a receiver. Meanwhile, Warren still carries the undrafted grit with a second-year polish that seemingly has taken the game to the next level.
