Brett Kollmann of The Film Room on YouTube ripped the Pittsburgh Steelers for the lack of motion percentage in their offense.

“I don’t know what’s more surprising – that the Steelers motion percentage is actually dead ass average, or that their positive EPA percentage is basically an island within the depths of hell,” Kollmann wrote on X.

“We know that hitches, curls, comebacks etc are a favorite of Canada. Their WRs ran the 3rd most of those out of anyone in WK 1-5 (108 receiving snaps of those routes). 8.3% of them featured motion at snap. Compared to 52% for Miami on those same routes. It’s not the routes themselves that are ‘dated’ per se, more so just how they are being implemented. Miami is using motion specifically at the snap to make an inherently static concept seem not so static, which creates space as DBs have to sort it out. Steelers don’t do that.”

🏈 Steelers Media Productions is releasing a new long-form feature series on the root of “Renegade” and the success the Steelers have when the song is played. The “Renegade” feature will debut on Thursday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. on Steelers.com and the Steelers YouTube channel.

🏈 Steelers.com: The Steelers partnered with Project Bundle-Up to take kids shopping for clothes to keep them warm and dry throughout the cold winter months.

“It feels awesome to be able to come out with the kids, getting them stuff they need to stay warm this winter,” tight end Pat Freiermuth said. “To see the smiles on their faces means a lot to me and my teammates. Being able to give back to the community, it’s part of our role as athletes in this community. It means a lot to us.”

The Salvation Army’s Project Bundle-Up is a program started by two late Pittsburgh staples, Patricia Rooney, the wife of late Steelers Chairman Dan Rooney, and Joe DeNardo, the former WTAE-TV weatherman. This is the 38th year for the program.

🏈 NFL commissioner Roger Goodell’s contract extension has been signed and finalized, per business reporter Daniel Kaplan. It’s set to run through 2027 — and bring his career earnings to roughly $700 million.

🏈 Former Steelers cornerback Cam Sutton is playing at a high level in Detroit. Sutton allowed 3 catches on 5 targets for a total of 8 yards on Sunday against Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Sutton posted Pro Football Focus’ third-highest grade among cornerbacks in Week 6 (81.8).

🏈 The Steelers plan to sign cornerback Darius Rush from the practice squad of the Kansas City Chiefs, according to a report by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Back in March, executive director of the Senior Bowl Jim Nagy posted an impressive clip of Rush mirroring a wide receiver during a one-on-one drill.

🏈 The Patriots should be sellers this season. Here’s who could be available.

🎂 Happy Birthday to former Steelers long snapper Greg Warren, born on October 18, 1981 in Mount Olive, North Carolina.

🎥 On the Not Just Football podcast with Cam Heyward, former Steelers outside linebacker James Harrison reflected on when he slammed a Browns fan in 2005.
